Blackest Night Wraps Up

There will be spoilers in this post, so there!

It's been months since I have posted on this. Fortunately, it's not a job...just a hobby. This way I am not accountable. Anyways, Blackest Night #8 came out yesterday, and typically I wait until the weekend to pick up my comics, but I had to see who lived, who died, blah blah blah.

There's nothing that irritates me more than big crossover "events". This one crossed over into almost every DC title. While I didn't get all the crossover stuff, I picked up most.

Of course, I got all the Green Lantern/GLC stories, as well as Blackest Night 1-8. Sinestro absorbing the white entity was pretty cool. Sinestro, as a character, continues to become more than just a jerk who hates everyone. This was so close to a "redemption" story for him. For me, the most interesting thing is to see what Sinestro does after Blackest Night. He was forced to team up with the good guys to destroy Nekron and the Black Lanterns, and his part in the story was pivotal. Great, great stuff.

Black Hand goes off with the Indigo Tribe. What will the fallout be?

The guardians. What's the deal now?

Blue Lantern Flash...how awesome was that?

Larfleeze busting Lex Luthor over the head and calling him "baldy". More hilarity.

Excellent moments with ring-bearers of every color, and I really think it's time to do a monthly that strictly features the other Corps in rotating stories.

Blackest Night #8 shows us the return of Firestorm, J'onn J'onnz, Max Lord, Captain Boomerang, Professor Zoom, Jade, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Aquaman. If I have forgotten someone, it's because I don't have the issue in front of me. Other question: why these characters and not some of the others?

Great, fun story. Incredible art. It seemed a little long, but I am an impatient bastard.
